Testimonials

Jens has been excellent in answering my frequent emails, keeping me updated on his progress with the units, and also just indulging me in general chit-chat. It seems Eisen Audio has a great bias towards good old fashioned, person-to-person customer support. I, personally, find this very relieving; my confidence in his product is high.

- Benny Grotto, Engineer/Producer/Mixer

Jens is a genius. He built 10 of my pre-amps and two EQs. He really works with you to give you the tonal character you're looking for. He's really young but I think that in 15 years people will be using his name like Rupert Neve.

- Kieran Kelly, Engineer/Producer/Studio Owner

This simple, two-band program equalizer adds a gentle, unobtrusive boost or cut to the highs and lows, while adding a subtly warm character. Vintage [equalizers] like the Pultec were often good at this sort of task (Purple Audio acknowledges the Lang PEQ-1 and Klangfilm RZ062 as inspirations); the LILPEQr brings this philosophy into the 500 Series world, with excellent build quality.

Craig Anderton, Lunching With the 500 Series Roundup, Electronic Musician, October 2011

This preamp is easily on par with any top-of-the-line mic preamp I have ever used. And I am nothing but pleased with this creation.

Garrett Haines, Review of DIY500 MKII MINIMAL KIT, Tape Op, November 2010

Almost all of the mic pre's that I use on this record were hand-built by Jens Jungkurth, of Eisen Audio

Kieran Kelly, In-Session: Bridges and Powerlines at The Buddy Project, Sonic Scoop, May 2010

Huge range of custom 500 Series preamps and D.I.Y. kits also offered

George Peterson, 500 Series Shopping Guide, Mix, December 2009

If you're looking at these pre-amps listed here and thinking that they just don't quite have what you're looking for, Eisen Audio might be able to help you. The Eisen Audio Custom pre-amp service uses the DIY500 mkII universal template to construct individually tailored modules. The front panel, markings, buttons, knobs, and connectors can all be designed just how you want, and standard switch features can also be modified.

I plan on putting some sweat equity into the room by building four Eisen Audio D.I.Y. 500 Series preamps, which lets me choose from a wide variety of op amps, I/O transformers; this is an inexpensive, custom way to add more variety to the front end (about $400 each, depending on parts).

Kevin Becka, 3 Studios, 3 Budgets, Mix, November 2008
